Basic Animation Effects

Hi girls, here's just a quick tutorial explaining how to achieve a simple animation for illuminate a bit your graphics.

Step One:
Open your image in Photoshop, and duplicate the layer as many times as you wish. For this sample I'll use just three.

Step two:
Choose the appropriate brush, set the colour(white preferable) and the size and apply to the first layer.

Step three:
Do the same with the other layers, but changing the size and the place of every spark-Then save them separately as Jpeg.and put them in a folder.

Step four:
Open your ImageReady.Go to your Ps Tools Palette and click on the icon at the bottom.Once in IR go to Archive/Import/Import folder

Step five:
When the window was opened choose your folder and click OK,and all the layers will be displayed as you see in the image below.

Step six:Adjust the exposition time of every layer.I've used 0,2 sec for this sample.Click the play button and see the result in the big window.

Step seven:
When you're happy with the result(you can change the layers place, the exposition time...)go to Archive/Save Optimized As...and save it as a Gif file...

And that's it.Feel free to ask if anything isn't clear enough.

A late advice:If you're going to put the sparks in a graphic that you want to use as a banner signature here, don't use many different layers, because the final file could be too much heavy.(We are allow to display up to 500Mb)

Thank you Lola

*The jpg part had me confused for a min because clicking on the IR tab in the pallet will take your layers over for you, but then I realized you would have to built the animation from your layers still and your way does that step.

Nope, the way you put it was the easier way. my way the frames still need to be created one at a time.

Ah.... That's how it's done... I might try that out with my picture programme later. I think I might be able to do something similar with it.

Thank you, Lola!

Thanks Tc. It's surprisingly easy. I may go back and add some more layers so the lights will move around a bit more since the file was smaller than expected.

That's strange TC.....But lately there have been a couple of issues. I could try for you, but you would have to decide on your one animated item. Remember we don't allow multiple animations.

Thank you, Lola. I have no PhotoShop, but your tutorial gave me the idea to try it with a program of mine I've not used until now...
