Luke Evans

Since Henry is here... why not bring Luke Evans as well.
Our new favorite welsh lad. (Who has a great singing voice btw..)

Neldorwen and I were just talking about the costumes of and how much we love the Muskies in them. Especially Luke of course who looks positively dashing as Aramis :)
So let's have a few pics.

and some of him as "Zeus" in the upcoming Immortals

I was thinking that last night! Great idea Tonny!

I think my friend and I both said "ooooohhhhhh" at the scene with the glasses on reading at the table.

just read this article at The One Ring. net :

'Immortals' Star Luke Evans 'Can't Wait to Go Back to Work' on 'The Hobbit'

Luke Evans is having an epic moment: He plays Aramis in 'The Three Musketeers,' Zeus in the upcoming 'Immortals,' and he's also been cast in a strategic role in Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit' films as Bard the Bowman, a heroic human who comes to Bilbo Baggins' aid. Evans talked to Moviefone about 'Immortals' (look for our interview with him about playing the youngest version of the Greek God closer to the movie's release on Nov. 11) and how much he's enjoying shooting the "longest job of his life" in New Zealand.

Your character, Bard the Bowman, has a very pivotal role. That's a big moment there at the end of the story.
There's an epic moment there, yeah.

Have you been practicing your archery skills?

Yes, I was trained for three weeks in New Zealand with a stunt coordinator, learning my new weapon. I've gone from swords in 'Musketeers' and a bow -- a long bow at that -- for 'The Hobbit,' so it's been a really interesting education, because there's very different ways of using a bow and arrow, so I've learned lots of them to make it look realistic.

When do you go back to work on it?

I go back in three weeks for my second block. Taking a little break to open 'Musketeers' and 'Immortals' and talk to you lovely people.

The actors who made 'The Lord of the Rings' films had this amazing camaraderie, are you experiencing that on 'The Hobbit?'
Yes, I am. It's interesting because the boys -- and when I say the boys, I mean the dwarves -- have been there since February, so they already had their team set up. But there's a lovely energy when you go to Wellington and you meet the whole team, including Fran [Walsh] and Philippa [Boyens] and the whole crew. Everybody. It's a Kiwi quality which I absolutely love and they immediately embrace you and you're part of the family. It just sort of transcends all the way through the layers [of the production], from the runners up to the top. Everybody's there loving the fact they're doing something incredibly special and I feel very honored to be in this family. I feel part of it now and I miss them very much and I can't wait to go back, to be honest.

How much longer do you have to film your part?
I'm there until the middle of next year. It's the longest job of my life.

We can't wait to see it.
Neither can I.

Aw, thats really sweet . I like this guy; I am really looking forward to seeing him as Bard! (And it would also be interesting if Bard and Legolas meet.... *crosses fingers*)

Also, he looks like Orlando at times

A friend of mine says they look like they could be brothers but I don't see it at all. But it's interesting that you see it too. In the Immortals picture he looks like James McAvoy I think.

My journalism school mates are moving up to Wellington. Lucky people. I'd kill for that opportunity, especially if they got to interview certain people...

Yes, he does look like James MacAvoy too! I'm not sure why I think Orlando and Luke look like each other... if you look at them separately, not so much, but then there are angles where they look very much like each other. Side profiles for example. And when I was watching 3M I thought Luke looked like Will Turner :)

Yeah I think it's just the hair pulled back and the facial hair.
They are very different actually, when they are next to eachother.
Luke's eyes are very different from Orlando's, but he too has a lovely smile!

He starred as Roger in a Rent production in London's West End in 2007-08 - here's a clip of him singing on this site (he has a very lovely voice!)

Yeah it was really funny actually. He was singing along to Take That's song that was being played and in the meantime he was talking to me, handing autographs and taking pics and went on singing saying he loved the song so much. :) And that's when i noticed he really could sing!

That's amazing Andnolewen!!! Getting to meet the man AND hear him sing in one go, you lucky duck! What did you say to him?

And thanks for the great pics of Luke and Henry - they look so dapper and gentlemanly, and I love the 'bromance' between them lol :) I'm so happy to see Henry finally get the attention he deserves after so many years.

(P.S. Was Luke singing to that Love Love song? )

A nice sit-down video interview with Luke . . . he discusses his background, Immortals, and talks a bit about The Hobbit and how playing Bard is one of the most physically demanding roles he's ever done. He'll be filming in New Zealand until June of next year: Actor Luke Evans on Tarsem's 'Immortals' & 'Hobbit'

Singing "when we were young"
I told him was looking forward to seeing him as Aramis and thanked him for being kind.
I was very very lucky indeed. Luke was a nice bonus after Orlando (who can't be beaten really :)

Thanks for the clip!

I have to say he is one very good looking man, he kind of reminds me of Antonio Bandares and I don't know why. I also see the Will Turner comparison too.

Luke Evans was the only thing I enjoyed about Immortals. It was too gory for my taste but he was pretty hot. He needed to be in it more.

I refuse to see that movie, the grapics look beyond horrible, if it is anything like 300 within 3 minutes I am done watching it. Sorry Luke, but you're not worth it to me.
