But it is just FANTASTIC
Well done!!

And yeah I can imagine the amount of fluids passing from your body at that time..

You really do have a way with this medium. -we want more?? *gg* -
What did you use acryllic paint or oil? And what size is the painting

^ Well, Tonny... The medium I used is oil. The painting itself measures something about 100 cm x 70 cm or so... Well... VERY LARGE.

*thinks about doing a life-size portrait*

Don't laugh. I once did that with a photo of Brad Pitt. It's now folded up and stored in my pictures folder. When I used to have that on my wall behind my door and my mom entered my room she regularly got a heart-attack.

As said, there are so many photos of Orlando I still want to paint but time's something I don't have too much of. Unfortunately. And if I've got time, it's mostly that I don't have the "inner calm" I need... But stay tuned. There will be more in the future.

Ah yes I remember you telling me about that Brad Pitt one!
poor mom!

and i forgot but you mentioned earlier the size of it, and in my opinion it only really works when it is a big sized work like you did.
I love how you got all the colours right and the shadings. Just fantastic.
And Oil takes so long to dry and work on.. i can understand about your inner calm for doing that... A studio would be ideal eh! :)

Wow...am speechless.

Have just this moment found this thread and I am beyond words - awesome talent there girl. Just awesome. Thanks for sharing them here, they are a delight for the eyes and working with oils isn't easy, so am very impressed.

Looking forward to seeing more as they arrive. Honestly, just amazed at your talent!!!

cheers

Wow, they're gorgeous! You're very very talented. It's a shame that you didn't have the time to let your cerativity flow. Some of the paintings look like a photograph you have to look a second time to see that it's a painting.
For the Brad Pitt one. Others had the Bravo Starschnitt (It's like a huge poster from a German teen mag. You have to cut out parts of the body and glue them together. Not sure if they still have them. I think now it's normal posters you have to put together.) but you had your own painting.

^ AH yeah... The Bravo Star-cut... Oh dear... Unfortunately, there had never been any of my favourites... I always had a "special" taste, mind you. While other girls at my age gushed over NKOTB or Take That or whatever, I always was one for movie-stars. And not those "kids", but the more mature ones.

But I had a big poster for the door of Tom Cruise as "Maverick" from "Top Gun"... Yeah... shame... but I loved him when I was around 13... Luckily, my taste changed.

no oil-portrait yet - but digitally altered set-photo

Sorry for the double-post, but the most recent set-pics of Main Street have inspired me. This is NOT A PAINTING (yet) but for that, I retouched the photo which had me captured in a second. So, this is - one could say - a piece of digital art by me.

And it's likely to be my next project as oil-portrait (quite Rembrandt'ish style, eh?):

Sorry that it's a bit corny. I haven't yet figured out how to soften pics... Just happy that I am able to cover backgrounds pixel-by-pixel.

*votes for a painting*
That looks great! Which software do you use for it? Maybe a Pixel-crack can help you out with soften it. You change the background pixel by pixel? I'm sure that there's a faster way for it...

Tom Cruise? I loved him in Top Gun! *tries to remind where the video tape with that movie is* Let's say I had my 'crushes' with movie & tv stars and a boygroup. And I ended up on a man that was named by Liv Tyler as a 'One man boyband'.

I don't actually change the whole background pixel by pixel.

I use Corel Photo-Paint 8 for that. Yeah, I know, there are newer programmes but since I'm no graphic-desinger and just do that as a hobby, it's enough for my stuff. I only go and cover pixel by pixel with another colour for the very subtleties like close to his face/body and so. But other than that, I use a big brush to cover the back-ground.

Twiglet, thank you! Yeah, I will try to start with it as soon as possible. As said, I also have another painting to do which has to be finished until the end of June. But I can work on two paintings at once, so...

Here... *cough*... is my humble attempt at my most recent project... it's not finished yet... I'm not entirely pleased with the shadowing/lighting of this one.

Wow! you are so talented! I can´t wait to see it finished

maybe you should make his face´s shadows with more contrast. I mean, it´s perfect, but the hair is so dark that makes the face looks lighter, know what I mean?? ^__^ maybe with a little touch with photoshop or with your own scanner

keep them coming!

Thank you, Aniviel.

I have to say, since I've seen all the beautiful, stunning works on here, I'm sort of embarrassed of my own works... I know you all like them just as much but I really think I'm not getting anywhere near the brilliance of Tonny, Nel and Nenya...

BUT... that won't discourage me. Long, dark nights are yet to come during the next half-year. Means, probably plenty of time for me to get my pencils out again. I will leave work earlier today and raid an artist's store here in Cologne to get new drawing-paper and stuff.

All I would then need are a few good print-outs of Orlando-piccies *must conjure daddy not to be mad at me for using up all ink-cartrigdes again* and the battle may begin.

Do you think I would dare to paint this particular pic from KoH? *gets sweaty hands just at the thought of it*

You have absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about Beriawen. I wish I had a modicum of your talent! The eyes are just amazing in your latest work.

First off, I might announce an earth-quake warning...

I started to draw this picture from the Toucas-shooting yesterday and finished it this afternoon. Now, don't laugh at me but this is actually the first picture I can speak of being totally pleased with how it turned out.

Again, the photograph of it isn't the very best - my digicam was on low battery, hence the slightly bad quality...

Okay... *ducks under desk* here it is.
