He's in fact a really good cop...not a model of "healthy life" but a good man nevertheless....

Here's a new (I think) image from the film...with this review of Orlando's work:
Quote:
"It's been long known that Forest Whitaker is a great actor." "Orlando Bloom proves about as impressive in ZULU: he walks his tired figure, his sad look, with a real grace."-Toutelaculture.com

I saw the movie yesterday !!!! Only....not the end no joking but the theater had a major electricity shutdown just 10 minutes from the end ( lucky I read the book)

No spoilers , but he is really amazing , worth every praise !

I sure hope it will be released soon in your countries ! But be warned, it is a very violent movie , those who've read the book can imagine .

OMG that's really bad luck mientjie,I just can imagine your frustration....but of course you'll be back and see it again for free,is the less they can do.I KNEW he's amazing in this character,I'm in love with Brian Epkeen and I'm so eagger to see it (even more than DOS).We have a lot of french movies here in Spain so I was hopping for a release...some pages talk about it and say "soon" but not a date or a real confirmation,if I live closer to the french border I was going to watch it there for sure....

Spoiler

The movie is being a success in France...

The audience is conquered by Zulu de Jérôme Salle (93% satisfaction): "a punch film sobering on forgiveness"

Oh please bring it to me so I could be one of those 93%....

I truly hope so GeminiGirl, we seem to be out of the shipping lanes down here and I am heartily fed up with the situation. Good grief! We are even the last country in the world to see DoS and it was made in our backyard.

There's a very interesting and well writing article/review about Zulu the movie and the book here,by Teklal Neguibe, poet, writer and artists interviewer...and she says such nice things about Orlando's performance and Brian Epkeen as a character...oh why on earth they don't release it in Spain yet??

I know it is in french, but I know too, that most of you can understand as I do...I'm sorry for the rest but it is too long and imply a great effort to me to translate it into english...

Thanks for that Lola, very much appreciated! Interesting that she picked up on the way Orlando moves, he really is a master at that, getting 'inside' his character in a physical sense. Also interesting that she seems to recommend watching the film first and then reading the book; I agree that the book is definitely worth reading, whatever order you might do it in.

Please Universe, let us see this film SOON!

I agree 100% Gem... I see Orlando in interviews or walking the streets but never on the screen... there, I see Joe or The Stain or Legolas...and I hope I can see Brian very soon too...

I brought these excerpts from the review...I think it worth it:

Quote:

About Orlando Bloom,it is the revelation of the film, is in short, Brian Epkeen, the real hero.Served by a character of a great richness, particularly complex, the actor shows all his talent (and obviously there's a lot). He was able to express the psychological finesse and the charisma of a character in full freewheel, that, works towards its own resilency.Voice of a character easily caricaturable, Orlando Bloom was able to extricate any B.E's. depth including what is not said in the movie... while reading the book permits to discover the traumatic reality both psycological and physical experiences of B.E.,the actor manages to transmit it through his performance, his subtlety,as in his eyes,as with his body or the way he moves.

To conclude, in addition to its cinematic qualities, the film Zulu is particularly interesting because of all the issues that are implicitly raised, and especially by the extraordinary quality of Orlando Bloom's performance.Brief, a true delight!

That's a very interesting review and it's great to read what she says about Orlando's performance.
Thank you so much for posting, Lola!

And there is finale a release date for Germany. According to this article Zulu will be released in May.
