They are talking about the music for DMC here:
http://community.livejournal.com/ohn...t/7251868.html

Apparently there's going to be a promtional CD called 'Death Man's Chest: Remixes' with remixes of He's a Pirate and Swords Crossed.

There are also links to download musics.

POTC2 Soundtrack Preview

I found a website where you can listen to the soundtrack!

POTC2 Soundtrack

Be sure that you have the latest version of Quicktime!
I have it but with dial-up I can only listen to the first seconds of a track and then it's going . Maybe someone can grab them?

I found that link earlier (from OBM) and listened to the tracks. Reading the descriptions I was thinking it was going to be quite different from the first soundtrack. However, from the snippets you get, there's those familiar themes sounding a bit different though. Looking forward to hear it in full, and seeing the movie of course Not sure what I think of the remixed He's A Pirate...

I can't imagine I not liking the entire soundtrack since I love the first...is that organ music I hear? Still, I'm looking forward to hearing all of it.

Selection #11 cracks me up...Hello Beastie!

While my friend and I were at the premiere they Disneyland 'Hosts' that were keeping us entertained started to ask trivia questions and if you answered correctly you got a 'suprise'. My friend answered the question "Who are Jack Sparrow's enemies in the two Pirate movies' She raised her hand before the question was done and of course answered, "Captain Barbossa and Davy Jones" She won the sound track! About five minutes later she had to go to the restroom and while she was gone I answered the question, 'What year did the Pirates ride open?" and it was "1967, I added March 18th because it's my friends birthday and she always brags about it opening on her b-day." I wont the cd too! It's sooo good! I've been listening to it non stop since Saturday night!

If this soundtrack doesn't get nominated for Best Original Score at the Oscar's, I will be P.O.ed. It is too awesome not to get nominated...and win!!

In the Italian mag "Best Movie" I read a brief article about this soundtrack.
It tells Hans Zimmer used more the orchestra this time and that there's less "action" than the first one, because he paid more attention in the emotions and feelings (even though there're also "echos" of the previous themes).
At the end there's a bonus-track, "He's a pirate", remix based on the Jack's theme and made by Dj Tiesto.

The new thing I didn't know is that Johnny and Gore thought of making sing the pirate songs to some very known singers, like, for instance, Bono, Nick Cave, Sting, Lou Reed and Bryan Ferry.

dj tiesto : remix of themesong from pirates of the caribbean

I heard the music over and over on the dutch radio so I wanted to share this with you. I haven't found the music yet and I sure don't know how to get it on here but I think it sounds great...but that is also a matter of opinion right!

http://www.tiesto.com/you look in the more news section....there you should find the piece on the music of potc

NOTE FOR THE MODS:If it is in the wrong place just feel free to replace please

EDIT: some of the music is on the official site of DMC under pirates soundtrack remixes http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/

Personally, I had to listen a couple of times to the re-mix befor it started growing on me. I got the Soundtrack in the car radio the other day when I was on my way to work - you know like this "Boy I'm still asleep, get me some caffein to wake me up"-thingie . And I really have to say that the Tiesto-remix got me wide awake that morning, I was somehow dancing in my car and humming .
I think it's pretty good work and a friend of mine is enthusiastic about it as it is perfect for a quadrille for horse-riding (perfect rhythm and stuff).
Someone in the Soundtrack-thread posted the link to the official DMC-page where you can listen to other clips of the remix. My favourite right now is the "Ship Ahoy Tribal Remix". martje, do you know if this a Tiesto-remix as well?
