Toronto: Orlando Bloom, Michael Douglas Join Noomi Rapace in Thriller ‘Unlocked’

More Movie News!!!

Quote:
Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom will join Noomi Rapace in the thriller “Unlocked” with shooting set to start Nov. 3.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing along with Georgina Townsley and Erik Howsam. Silver Reel will finance and produce with di Bonaventura.

Alex Walton and Ken Kao’s new Bloom banner is introducing the film at the Toronto International Film Festival.

British director Michael Apted will direct from a screenplay by Peter O’Brien.

Rapace will play a CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides information to terrorists — triggering a race against the clock to stop a biological warfare attack on London. She became attached to the project earlier this year.

Bloom will be seen next in “The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies” and he recently came on board Shane Black’s detective thriller “The Nice Guys.” Douglas was most recently seen in “And So It Goes” and is filming “Ant-Man.” Rapace stars in crime-drama “The Drop,” which screened Saturday at Toronto in the Special Presentations section, with the late James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy.

Di Bonaventura produced “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” Silver Reel has financed 22 projects since 2009 including “Under the Skin,” “The Railway Man” and “A Hologram for a King,” starring Tom Hanks.

Douglas is represented by UTA. Bloom is represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Raprace is represented by CAA and Magnolia Entertainment. Apted is represented by CAA and the Gotham Group.

Orlando can do all these things: he can be Will -which he definitely loves- and he can still try as many different roles as he wants to.
POTC was not the same without him and surely the producers have learned that.
All this new movie news is good. The more Orlando on screen, the better.
Be it big or small.
And there is nothing wrong with nostalgia; See the success of the Hobbit and part 2 was even bigger and Orlando's presence certainly had to do with that.

I never said that nostalgia was bad. Honestly, I thought most people went to see POTC for Jack Sparrow. I mean yeah people went for Orlando too.

I can't wait to see how that new movie comes out like.

Waaah! Exciting news!

I'm with Mithriel - I'm more excited about this new thriller.

Some info from wearyourself.co.uk:

Quote:
Both Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom have joined the upcoming Michael Apted thriller, Unlocked, in which they will star opposite Noomi Repace.

Unlocked follows the story of a CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides vital information to terrorists planning to unleash a biological attack on London.

Apted is set to begin shooting in November, from a script by Peter O'Brien. In the movie, the CIA officer [Repace] rushes to stop the attack.

Hope it is true...he's so absolutely brilliant in Zulu,he needs more of that. Not that I don't like him as Will,I do...when I saw AWE I was afraid of blink and miss something when he was on screen, but the thought of him playing darker characters gives me the shivers...and I like Noomi Rapace very much btw...
Thank you for bring the info in,girls

This sounds interesting. I look forward to this movie. Noomi Rapace is one talented woman, playing Lisbeth Salander in the Millenium trilogy.
I wonder who Orlando would play? A baddie???

Whenver women play characters of authority or characters who are intelligence officers working in espionage, I go crazy. Bottom line is that I like the genre of espionage....

Here's a little article I literally stumbled upon....
http://variety.com/2014/film/news/or...ce-1201300131/
There is mention of Toronto Film Festival and Orlando Bloom. Hmmm Is this a dream come true???

Could well be - "a CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides information to terrorists" - maybe Orlando plays the terrorist? ...

The Millenium trilogy (the Swedish original) is a great movie, I'm such a fan of it! (Forget about the US remake btw)

Completely agree with you... When something is good we don't need to remake it...

Hi ladies!
I was told that Orlando will shoot a commercial for a lipcare brand called "Manuka Bee" which is reported originally owed by New Zealand's geoskincare, maybe only for China market. This news is confirmed by their Ad agent and offcial online shop ( they finished something like "who's the new face" guess event): http://manukabee.tmall.com/
I don't know the time of shooting right now because I was told the project plan wasn't decided yet, but will tell you more as long as I get more news.

I know my visits here on the board are rare lately - nothing too spectecular in this guy's life which allures me to leave posts here on a regular basis - B U T Pirates 5?! If so, my dreams have come true. No kidding - I just had a dream about that some time ago...

I just have that gut feeling... it's not going to be anything like we wished it to be... (final curse lifting???)

Orlando talks about his role in "Zulu" ("City of Violence" in SA) and filming in South Africa - iol.co.za

Quote:
Playing an alcoholic mess of a South African cop in City of Violence is worlds away from the kind of roles English actor Orlando Bloom has become famous for, ...
...
Quite a long read, but it's so worth it.

Hey all,

I wasn't sure where to post this, so here it goes....
Here's an office chair from the Brick that's called the Orlando!
LOL! It probably has nothing to do with The Man, but still, it's a funny imagine in your mind.
" Feeling a little frisky right now. I know what I can do: go sit on The Orlando!".
