Everest: A Climb For Peace

I only found a thread about this movie in the video download section.
If there's already a thread or I'm posting in the wrong palce please enable an eartquake move.

I ordered my copy over Ebay and just got an email that it's on it's way.

Has anyone else this DVD?

A bit info:
Quote:
Film Overview:

Narrated by Orlando Bloom and hailed as a "tremendous achievement" by the Dalai Lama. Everest: A Climb for Peace is not just a typical Everest film, but a socially relevant documentary about peace, war, and the human spirit - an inspirational film, which also has some of the most incredible Everest footage ever shot, including a dramatic rescue from near the summit of Everest.

- DVD Length: 63 Minutes

Film Storyline:

Filmed on location in Nepal, Tibet, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, U.A.E, and the United States, the film chronicles the spectacular journey of 9 'peace climbers' from different faiths and cultures as they climb to the summit of the tallest mountain in the world. The focus is on Palestinian Ali Bushnaq and Israeli's Dudu Yifrah and Micha Yaniv. They come together and set aside their differences to forge a path of teamwork and cooperation to attempt to summit the world’s highest peak. This however, is easier said than done. Their nations have been embroiled in a brutal war for years; each believes they are on the right side of that war and each knows that on Everest the cooperation of your teammate is a matter of life and death.

This movie has won a lot awards. I'm so happy that Orlando had taken part in doing the narration.

I have it.
It is a wonderful, inspirational and uplifting story. Beautifully shot.
I would have enjoyed the film anyway, but Orlando's narration is just the icing on the cake.

I was going to get Sebastian's book for my father but maybe this DVD would be better. Not that he cares if Orlando narrated it but he is a climber and environmentalist. He's climbed Mt. Ranier and Kilamanjaro (?). If he were younger, no doubt he would try Everest (well except for the fact that it is VERY expensive). So thankfully he's too old at this point to try anything that dangerous.

Not that he will have plans climbing the Everest after he saw the movie. You're never too old to have stupid ideas.

He better not! He's 73 years old so I think his climbing days are behind him although if he heard me say that out loud he'd do it to prove me wrong. He's a bit of a thrill seeker.
