Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood

Ok, so here's the Legolas thread *deep bow* My Prince
I don't actually have many pieces of Legolas. I'm a bit intimidated by him as far as making walls, banners and icons, but here are a few I've done in the past:

an LJ banner I did:

walls:

I also wanted to post this one... it's a manip by our dearly missed Elfmuse I have always loved this wall she did, the way she feathered his hair was amazing:

*Smile* thanks Mirk - for opening the thread and posting that beautiful manip by ElfMuse.

Love your walls- especially the last one. Something really striking in that one

Thanks for starting this tribute thread to Legolas, Mirk. And I love your walls, especially #3. That's gorgeous

The wall you posted by ElfMuse takes my breath away. It's absolutely glorious. It's hard to decide who has the best hair -- Legolas or the horse ?

Here's a couple of my Legolas walls:

And a couple of banners:

Hope you've enjoyed looking as much as I have enjoyed working with Legolas !!

Well well, a Legolas thread ... who'd a thunk it?
*kneels before the Elf Prince*

These are gorgeous guys! The closest thing I have to a Legolas graphic is my little siggie.

Ahhh *blissful sigh* the Elf...
I hadn't seen the manip by ElfMuse before, 'tis indeed beautiful and the hair is great
Mirk, the LG banner is great, I love the first (colouring and brush effects), second last (gods I love that pic ) and last (two lovely pics put together wonderfully well) walls.
Leggybelle I particularly like that first wall of yours too. The gradient, font and composition

EDIT- Here's some of my Leggy works, I'll start with wall papers

Ah, my prince. There's nothing so lovely.

Mirk, I know I have some of yours tucked away on my LOTR disks ... all great. You're right, Leggybelle, he started it all.

I'll donate a few to the thread. Here are some of my old ones ...

(No clickies there, but if anyone wants a bigger version, just PM me ... I don't have the larger ones on my storage site at the moment.)

And these were later ones I did ...

(click-able)

I didn't credit that last quote, but it's from Tolkien when he first described seeing Legolas. Sigh.

This one's a re-do of an early design I did. I've used it in the calendar that's currently unfolding over in the Ka-Bloom galleries. (He's Mr. February and will appear in 2 later months as well.) ...

Here's a portrait page of our prince ...

(Fullpage sizes of this one are at OBF-scrapbook)

And here's a copy of what I think is simply the most breathtaking photo of Legolas in existence.
I clearly recall gasping aloud when I saw it for the first time. You all will know where.

(clickable - huge)

He's just. so. beautiful.
Not a bad character to be immortalized for, is it? I don't think Orlando could possibly have had any idea what an impact he would have. And just think ... he'll live forever this way.

~~~~~
Edit - Avalon, you posted while I was composing. I love your walls! Especially that first one - just gorgeous!
Gorgeous work everyone!
These were my early pathetic attempts at walls. I gave up doing graphics since I suck pond water!
Oh, EL, your walls are great ! I love the "To the Sea" one -- it's breathtakingly beautiful.
And thank you, Lady Nin, for posting your Coronation Legolas wall.....it's so lovely. That picture is a classic, and you've set it up so nicely.
This is promising to be an awesome thread.
*spits out her own pond water*. EL I like the 3rd and 4th walls you did there. I've always had issues with 'cleaning' backgrounds away in Legolas pictures... his hair always looks like crap in my walls, so I pretty much gave up doing walls of him.
If that was a problem, all you had to do was come to my house.
Yeah, you wish. I seem to recall last seeing him shackled to EL's hot tub.
I really, really like your first wall, Nel.
Those are lovely, Nika. I like the first one alot.
I've only made a few things here and there when inspiration strikes.....which isn't often, I'm sad to say.
One I made for EL:
This is the very first sig I ever made with lots of help from EL:
Then she let me loose.
One I made for Elenora:
Then there were several versions of this:
Ah, so much beauty!
Here are some LJ icons I made:
I'm missing Legolas too! Just the other night, I caught a glimpse of ROTK on one of the movie channels. It was the "stars are veiled" hooded elf scene on the steps of Edoras. *le heavy sigh* Legolas spoke and turned to Aragorn and just about fainted. It's been too long. I need to watch the films again.
I miss the elf!
I've caught parts of that, as well, while channel surfing. I can never resist clicking it on - just to see where in the story it is at the moment, and I usually watch for a bit. I am enjoying these new threads tremendously, but - as with all the Joe Byrne stuff - it's making me want to clear out some DVD time for Orlando's movies. (And, incidentally, with the choices we have now, I simply can't comprehend how there are those who still say he is stiff and wooden and can't act. They just aren't paying attention!)
My "arts" have all been on the large size ... walls and full-page stuff for portraits and the scrapbook, so I haven't done but a few Avatars/icons or sigs, and none of his characters. Needless to say, I'm click-saving like crazy in this gallery. Serein, I only have 2 of your ringspell sigs, but I love them and remember how impressed I was when I first saw them ... Farewell just blew me away. I am amazed at how someone can get this much into such a tiny space with clarity ...
And I love this ... ... where we can catch a glimpse of Orli-as-Leggy.
These new galleries were a terrific idea ... kudos, gang.
