Lyrics of "Hoist the Colours"

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho,
thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.

The king and his men
stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her Bones.
The seas be ours
and by the powers
where we will well roam.

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.

Some men have died
and some are alive
and others sail on the sea
with the keys to the cage...
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler's Green!

The bell has been raised
from it's watery grave...
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
We are a call to all,
pay head the squall
and turn your sail toward home!

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high...
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.

I think the soundtrack is great and it goes along with the movie rather well.

I LOVE the songs "Parlay" and "Hoist the Colours." I just wish they were longer.

Oh, me too. Parlay and Hoist the Colours are really beautiful. And also I love One Day. It makes me a bit sad everytime I listen to it. But this little part played by the violins in it is so beautiful. I really love it!

I have a question...I don't know anything about the technical aspects of music, so I might not be saying this right, but is the melody in the "Davy Jones" song from DMC "Hoist the Colours?"

I just realized since I was listening to them one after the other that they sounded very similar.

I have yet to buy this thing. Is it as good as the first and second ones? I'm a movie soundtrack nut, so I'll probably buy this to complete my collection anyways.

I love the soundtrack!! I like Hoist The Colors. One Day makes me sad because I can remember what happens in the movie while it is playing. It is awesome though!

I just bought my soundtrack and I'm just about ready to cry every time I hear "One Day". It's so beautiful. It just makes me want to hug the two of them and, yeah, I'm bizarre. Anyways, it's a fantastic audio track. I recommend anyone who's seen the movie to get this.

Just bought it yesterday! I adore Wit's End, Parlay, One Day, and Drink Up Me Hearties...basically the entire CD. Drink Up Me Hearties is so awesome because its a compilation of all these themes involved in the Pirates franchise.

I love how Parlay is like a throwback to those Spaghetti Western movies, like "A Fist Full of Dollars" and "The Good The Bad and The Ugly". It's brilliant.

oh my gosh, i said the same exact thing in the theater. i thought that was so great, with the camera angles mirroring the western style. brilliant.

i love this soundtrack. all the Pirates scores have been fantastic. my favorites are "Up Is Down," "At Wit's End," "Multiple Jacks," and "I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time (partly because that scene was so adorable )."
at first i didn't like "Hoist The Colors" when the 30 second clips were available online, but now that i've seen the movie, it think it's a rather dramatic song. i like that they incorporated the main melody of "Hoise the Colors" in a lot of the other songs.

I agree, the soundtrack is awesome! It is nice of you to offer to share, HannonLe, but with US copyright it is illegal to do so here.

Is anyone else hearing 'Walking on the Moon' by Sting/The Police, in the second song 'Singapore'? :)

The rhythm in the intro is quite similar to the theme of Singapore... I just think is a coincidence..

Oh yeah, I know it's coincidence and not copying. :) I just wondered if anyone else heard it too.
There's actually odd bits of melody in other places that remind me of other songs/scores too. But it's inevitable because music has been around so long that nothing is ever completely unique anymore.

I love this soundtrack so much. I had a seven hour drive and listened to it for all seven hours. I'm not even close to being sick of it yet. My favorites are Up Is Down, Parlay, and One Day. One Day makes me teary-eyed everytime.

So we can cry our eyes out and flood ourselves out of the treehouse?

We'll need a lot of comforting from the boys, yes?
