I agree. How fortiutious for Jackson to have looked at his audition tape and put him in as Legolas. I can't think of anyone who would have done the elf justice. Orlando was simply perfect in that role.

^Yes. Still in love with Jackson. I was happy to see that all three LOTR movies were on IMDb's 15 powerful movies. I hope Lovely Bones can join that list!! Cant wait to see it!

Thanks for that. I really do hope to see Orlando and PJ working together again in the near future. Even if its not the Hobbit or anything LOTR related.

LOTR -all three of them - were on TV this past Sunday. It was great watching it while decorating the tree though I daresay it took me longer to do the tree and house than normal. Must have been the elf.

I think, considering the fact that elves are very tree-friendly creatures - they would think it was tasteless to cut down a fir, drag it into your living-room and decorate it with lights, tinsel and baubles.

No, Nuit. I don't think the elf helped hanging the baubles.

Taste hmmm. I am sure you are right. Though from what I could see they did seem quite fond of a fairy light so maybe could be convinced eh??

Maybe he was the just one holding onto the baubles then, yeah maybe that was it.

Being a "green" person, we don't use a real tree. It bothers me that real trees are cut down and then discarded for only a few weeks. I prefer if someone must have a real tree, that they take them with their roots in tact.

Nuit, we were waiting for you with the hot chocolate. In the end, we had a bit of brandy in our eggnog and some chocolate chip cookies and ginger nuts.

Yes, with the marshmellows too!

I love the smell of the pine, and when the fireplace is lit, and scented candles are on and the lights of the tree are glistening, it is really beautiful - more so with a man with a moustache of chocolate and marshmellows.

I apologize for the double post but from Variety

'Invictus' bash scores big
Stars turn out for bow of Eastwood's latest
By DAVE MCNARY
Thursday's glitzy premiere for Warner Bros.' "Invictus" at the Academy elicited an amazed reaction from screenwriter Tony Peckham.
"I always hated rugby because I was the smallest guy and always got clobbered growing up in Durban," he admitted. "It's stunning for me to be here now, having wound up writing a movie for Clint Eastwood about it."

At the post-preem bash at the Beverly Wilshire, Morgan Freeman and producing partner Lori McCreary said they were most pleased over the reaction of Nelson Mandela's daughter Zindzi to the film at the screening. They're planning to journey this week to South Africa for a trio of premieres plus a private screening for Mandela.

"I think we'll be all right when we show it to him," Freeman said.

McCreary noted that she'd first met Mandela in 1993 while working on the anti-apartheid film "Bopha." "It's been my goal ever since to make this film," she added.

Producer Mace Neufeld mused that "Invictus" was the first time he'd worked with Eastwood, adding, "It only took me until I was 81." Event, a benefit for the American Film Institute, also saw Eastwood's spouse Dina intro a performance by South African octet The Overtones, who perform in the pic. "I discovered them," she added.

Attendees included Freeman's co-star Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom; studio execs Barry Meyer, Alan Horn, Sue Kroll and Veronika Kwan-Rubinek; and Francois Pienaar, the captain of the South African rugby team portrayed in the film.

The mental image from this...why are there never photographers when we need them?

Quote:
The balloons came downstairs from the suite, along with the candy, which seemed to fuel guests such as Kate Bosworth, who danced and giggled to songs played by DJ Daniel Lamoure. Bosworth’s ex-boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, joined her on the dance floor, swinging his jacket around his head like a lasso.

Oh man, Orlando and Alexander together? Shut up, I would be in hot guy heaven.

The snippet about him and Kate sounds so funny. It would have been cool to have pictures of that.

Sounds like there are some Alexander Skarsgard fans here. Maybe he needs a thread in the man bar section. Then maybe pictures of him and Orlando will show up. Sorry OT.
