Me me!!! 2nd series starts here on Saturday-we all watch it before kids go to bed which is something we only do with Merlin and Doctor Who!(my kids are quite small, ish!)I like the way they have brought it up to date without being over cheesy

Bit naff, don't like people mucking around with a known storyline etc really annoys me, but do I watch it? Of course I do....

Ooh, I'm a fan!
Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
I think it is also risky to change a known storyline, but at the same time its kind of a breath of fresh air (although I hate using that term) that they are "reinventing" the Arthurian legend, and they are doing it in a way that doesn't wreck or completely deviate from the original legend. Can't wait for Season 2

I have to admit that I liked this show too. It's not exactly must-see TV but it was a fun show to watch during the summer (NBC aired it this summer in the States, the first time in a long time that a regular network has aired a British show). Since I have been a fan of the King Arthur legends for a long time, I was a little annoyed at first with the liberties the show took . But the cast is charming and I do like how the writers wrote some aspects of the Arthurian legend into their storyline.

I noticed that the ratings here for Merlin's first season weren't that good. If NBC doesn't pick it up for next season, hopefully another network will.

And it was fun to see Alexander Siddig as a bad guy.

I admit I was very, very sceptic at first too, but those bunch of awesome actors won me over. I generally think that 'known storyline' for the Arthurian legend is a loose term anyway. I've read countless of 'versions' dating back to the middle ages.

I'm sure Morgana is the reason a lot of Dads don't mind watching! She gets all the best outfits, yes Arthurian stuff is a bit all over the place but they've managed to bring in Lancelot, true to a lot of the legends but its Saturday teatime drama which they've had to make kind of digestable, kids love it,liked mackenzie Crook a lot last week!

Third season of Merlin already! and here are some more lovely pics.
Colin is so cute and Bradley just keeps showing off his chest more and more!
I hope Lancelot will return soon. But the newly added Gawain and the Villain Cendred are not so hard on the eyes

I discovered this show just two weeks ago. Took me two days to watch all yet released episodes. *lol*

In the beginning I thought it all too clean (for the middle ages) and the wardrobe (esp. Merlin's) too modern. Didn't keep me from falling head over heels. This show is just adorable and got me addicted completely.

Can't wait 'til this season's finale only to mourn after that it's over then. TV can be so cruel! And why the hell are all brit TV shows that short? It's just the same with "Being Human". Cruel! So so cruel!

*sighs* ... cute Merlin and hot Arthur. They're not perfect but you have to love them. :)

True eh! It grows on you and once you get hooked there is no escape and especially since they are bringing on more knights.. Gawain, Lancy, Leon.. even Cenred is cute!

I totally adore Colin Morgan; think he;s a fine actor and too cute for his own good.

For me the turning point was when they started with the Arthur & Guinevere romance storyline. They made it so Romeo & Juliette, so romantic and beautiful. I always cheer like a girl seeing them both together. Even if it's just for a couple of short moments.

I didn't like the idea of Guinevere being a servant girl in the beginning. Just something that didn't want to fit in my Arthurian legend picture. But since the romance began I just love that the producers went down that road. It's new and cute and gives us girls those awww moments, doesn't it?

Back when I read tons of Arthurian legend novels I've been usually with Lancelot. With this show instead I always want to kick Lancelot when he's going all prince charming on Gwen.

And for Colin. Hell, that guy is talented! I'm still stunned by his "being old" perfomance. And yes, he's a cutie. There's no choice but liking him full-heartedly.

Lol yes there's definitely something LOTRs like about Merlin sometimes!!
LOVED the finale-though I was waiting for Merlin to reveal that he has magic-s'pose that's for a later time!
Oh and just to be for a moment-Gwaine and Lancelot what a sight for the eyes and yes even poor Cenred had he cleaned his teeth
Hope they keep making this for a while yet-I've heard though it has a 4th series its shorter, that's a shame.

I just noticed that the SyFy Channel in the U.S. is showing season three of Merlin this Friday (Jan.7)! You can see my comments on the first season in the earlier post and I thought the second season was definately better than the first. It added a more serious tone in some episodes.

Thanks Tonny for adding the pictures. Yes Bradley has a great body. Lancelot is pretty hot too. (The actor Santiago Cabrera also has Orlando connections. He had a small part in Haven and played the real Paolo in Love and Other Disasters. Of course the "movie" Paolo was much, much better-looking. ) And there are more good-looking men to come, eh? This should be a very interesting season.

And I agree with what has been said about Colin Morgan. He is adorable. And he could easily coast on his charms, but he is a good actor too. I especially liked his acting in the season two finale. Merlin's scenes with his long lost father were very well-done, poignant and ultimately heart-breaking. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.

I'm so glad I decided to stop by the board today (I've been awol for quite awhile). I love the Merlin series and had thought it was gone (). I'm so glad to hear that there's a third season. I'll definitely be watching tonight. I'm a big fan of the Arthur stories/legends. It's fascinating how they can re-tell the same basic story so many different ways.
