Today, Tomorrow and Forever

TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER

Title: Today, Tomorrow and Forever
Author: Snoewhite
Disclaimer: Implied Todd Blackburn
Category: Black Hawk Down
Rating: G
Warnings: N/A
Synopsis:This is to be taken as an excerpt from a journal of Todd Blackburn's after his fall and injury.

I’m in a downward spiral,
Feeling the darkness settle around me,
Like a thick London fog.
I choke on the thickness as I am dragged down,
And I try to fight it.

Armed with my friends and good wishes,
However, I feel the sinking once again.
My spirit cannot be buoyed,
I want to swim,
I want to live.

But the mental fights the physical,
Weighing my limbs with fatigue.
I feel like I am sinking like a stone in a pond,
Sometimes the fight is more strenuous,
Than giving up.

I feel the need to surrender to the tide of bad feelings,
And float away from this sea of pain.
I realize that exhaustion clouds my thinking,
Armed with nothing more than determination,
I make it through one more day.

Wondering how much longer,
I can continue to win this fight.
Today I will,
Tomorrow maybe,
Forever hopefully.

Second post... please give feedback I need it good or bad.
Thanks,
Snoey

Wonderful stuff. You have a real talent for this. Such powerful and sobering thoughts in very few words but they stay with you...

Keep at it, this is fantastic work

That was great. You really captured the feeling of dispair and his struggle to over come dispite it.
